  • Class Summary 3-April-11 Today’s class centered on the origin and meaning of puja. Puja is defined as the way/ means chosen by a devotee to worship God and is a means of bringing Hindus closer as a community. The worshipper (purusha) is awakened (janma) after partaking in the Puja ceremony with new life & consiousness. He/She will then be aware of the presence of God. Puja was not practiced in it present form by the Vedic Indians nor is there any historical evidence of Puja as ritual was accepted into Hinduism.
