Center for Indian Cultural Education - Bal Vihar of St. Louis, a non-profit organization, since its inception in 1992 has been serving the Metro St. Louis Indian community. The primary focus of this organization is to provide Indian cultural education to students age 5-18, its application and integration with the global multicultural and multifaceted society. They are also taught discipline, tolerance and devotion in their daily routine. The ultimate goal is "to throw the light of cultural knowledge on every child, to make every child an outstanding citizen and to spread the song of peace and harmony around the world."

Currently, the school meets every other Sunday from August through May at Ladue Middle School. Well designed, progressive curriculum focuses on aspects of religion, social, cultural, politics and community service. Complementing the curriculum, students also learn Yoga and Bhajans. Students, parents and extended families come together to celebrate Indian festivals like Diwali, Holi, Republic Day and many more.

President's Message

Namaste!

As we progress into the 20th year of Bal Vihar, the school has continued exciting activities since September of this year. It was unparallel participation of children and parents in most of the activities carried out by Bal Vihar teaching staff and volunteers. We have more than 250 children registered this year.

I want to sincerely thank all volunteer parents, youth students in supporting our admin and teaching staff and making our Diwali celebration on October 30, 2011 a memorable event. As many as 600 participants including students, parents, and grandparents joined the Diwali Puja at the Hindu Temple of St. Louis, MO and Fireworks and dinner at the Mahatma Gandhi center in Manchester, MO.
